Tyler Roy is an alumnus of Appalachian State University, in Boone, North Carolina, where he majored in English with a minor in Sustainable Development. Currently, he lives on Izu Oshima, a small island “stratovolcano” 150 kilometers from Tokyo. His family resides in Knoxville, Tennessee.
